Support for Art in Public Spaces
The Linhart Foundation has regarded as one of its key long-term pursuits the installation of art in public spaces along with endeavours aimed at their revitalization.
Thanks to its private corporate sector partnerships, the Linhart Foundation is in a position to contribute in part to the funding of this programme, while simultaneously taking an active part in its development. Grants provided by the Foundation are allotted on the basis of public invitation for projects in the fields of street art and site-specific art. These projects are often conceived in association with students of art from various schools including the Prague Film Academy (FAMU), Prague Drama Academy (DAMU), Brno University of Technology (VUT), Prague Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design (UMPRUM), Brno Faculty of Visual Art (FaVU), Prague Academy of Fine Art (AVU) and others, but on principle they are open to all professional and up-and-coming artists. The programme´s tangible output is exemplified by, among other works, Armageddon, by Štěpán Beránek, installed in Prague´s Petrské Square, or the prototype piano shelter by Markéta Zdebská, in Prague´s Náměstí míru.
